On The Road Again.....Louisiana to Texas

My goodness that looks steep !
When you are towing a 5th wheel  it's not the going up it's the coming down the other side but Yorkie-Man has it under control :)
Back onto the I-10 today for short 2 hour drive over the border to Texas......

Yes Sulphur by name and sulphur by smell.......
Here we are in Texas, it's been an easy and interesting journey, we lost the heavy tree lined landscape for  open farmland and then in the Lake Charles area it was very industrial very much an oil town, most of the trucks are transporting heavy machinery

This is just an overnight stop, no reflection on the campsite it's good but tomorrow we move onto Galveston our final destination for this trip before making our way to the storage facility near Houston
More from The Happy Campers soon.......

  2. We sure have........funnily enough we were listening to Willy's Roadhouse on the radio yesterday and they played it then :) At least it's a good song to get stuck in the brain not like when we get to Amarillo !!!!!
    Have a great weekend

  3. Good to see you are in good spirits, and now deep into Texas. Guess you avoided New Orleans on your way. I've driven Louisiana to Houston, from a place called Houma on the Gulf. Long trip. My last week before heading out at the weekend so thi may be my last "comment", but see you both on my return and looking forward to golf with my pal. Love from Maxine.

  4. Yes we decided against New Orleans, we're not really big city people and a few folks have said to avoid N O. We are nicely settled here on Galveston (80 degrees yesterday) for our final week on this trip. We shall have a good look about and get the camper ready for storage and then home to the cold and rain !! I remember seeing Houma on the map while navigating. I am just about to put our journey here onto the blog....we had a first.....
Have a good and safe trip and look forward to seeing you and Maxine over the Christmas/NY festivities
