Biloxi, Mississippi

Sunday morning and all is quiet in downtown Biloxi
Biloxi City Hall
Howard Street, part of the Historic Area
One of the oldest houses in Biloxi and I think rebuilt after Hurricane Katrina, it is being converted into a museum
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino
The casinos have been instrumental in rebuilding Biloxi after Katrina and other hurricanes that have devastated the area
Biloxi Lighthouse
Another wide beach but not quite as nice as others we have visited on the Gulf.
The 26 miles of white sand beach here at Biloxi was man-made in 1951 to enhance what was already a booming resort area......
The Beau Rivage Hotel and Casino taken from the pier (earlier pic)
Due to old gambling laws the casinos have to be built over the sea
And here's a train !! The railroad runs along the back of the campsite,  I'm happy but Yorkie-Man not so much !!
Just a 2 night stay here,  as mentioned before Bill C said there is not a lot to Biloxi but it was a good stop off point on our route across to Texas and after reading all of the John Grisham books we thought we ought to visit.....
We now have another problem this time with the a/c....strange noises coming from the living area unit !! As this is the 3rd thing to go wrong we are hopeful !!!!  We have booked our next campsite near Baton Rouge, Louisiana and have decided to stick to the plan and sort the a/c problem when we get there.........tomorrow back up to the I-10 and head West......

  1. Hi Guys, good to see all is well. Got Mike's note this morning. I know what you mean about that part of the world, spent a night in Mobile once, wasnt the most memorable experience. Deep into Autumn now, pleanty of leaves on the ground, but still wet. When you get back I will be away, leave for Malaysia and Perth on 26th, back 9th December. Travel well and enjoy!!

PS You'll be pleased to know it was really cold here overnight and although sunny and blue skies today it only got into low 60's !!

    1. Didn't go into any casinos this time although we have in the past, there's some good shows on at some of them too
Luckily a/c noise seems to have been a trapped leaf ! Phew :)
